Powerful God

“The LORD reigns, He is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed in majesty and armed with strength.” — Psalm 93:1

Beloved, Psalm 93 is not poetic exaggeration; it is a revelation of the indescribable majesty of God. The psalmist lifts our eyes beyond creation, beyond human government, beyond principalities and powers, and fixes them on the One whose throne predates time itself. Before angels were formed, before galaxies were suspended in space, before the first grain of dust was spoken into existence—God already was. His reign is not voted in and cannot be voted out. It is not supported by polls and cannot be shaken by human rebellion.

He is King from eternity to eternity, clothed—not with fabric—but with majesty, glory, and power.

When you read, “The LORD reigns,” it means every kingdom bows, every system submits, every force of darkness surrenders. His sovereignty is not theoretical; it is active, prevailing, and visible in the affairs of men.

Psalm 93 speaks of the seas lifting up their voices. In Hebrew imagery, the sea represents chaos, rebellion, and spiritual disorder—the same chaotic waters mentioned in Genesis 1:2:

“Darkness was over the surface of the deep…”

Those waters symbolize what is untamed, uncontrollable, and threatening. Yet what did God do?

“And God said…” — Genesis 1:9–10

At the sound of His voice, the chaos rearranged itself. At His word, the waters withdrew. At His command, boundaries were drawn.

Beloved, this is not ancient poetry. This is a portrait of how God deals with every chaotic force in your life. The same God who set boundaries for the seas has set boundaries for the battles in your life. Nothing can cross its limit without His permission.

I read about a missionary couple who travelled into a region known for heavy occult activity. Every night, intimidating manifestations would try to disturb them—objects moving, doors shaking, voices whispering. But the moment they stood together and declared, “The Lord reigns in this house,” the atmosphere shifted instantly. The disturbances stopped permanently. Why? Because when God’s sovereignty is declared, the waves retreat.

Like the God of Psalm 93, He still rules the floods. He still calms the waves. He still sets boundaries for storms—both natural and spiritual.

Psalm 93 concludes with a powerful reminder:

“Holiness adorns Your house, O LORD, forever.” — Psalm 93:5

The God who rules the seas is also the God who demands a holy people. Leviticus 19:2 declares:

“Be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy.”

The majesty of God shapes the morality of His people. The One who commands creation expects consecration. A holy God desires holy vessels. Holiness is not legalism—it’s alignment. It is the life of God expressed in human character.

Just as God sets boundaries for the sea, the Holy Spirit sets boundaries in our hearts. Galatians 5 teaches that when the Spirit reigns in us, He produces fruit: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-control. These are not human achievements; they are divine evidences that the King is ruling within.

The God who controls the waters can control your circumstances. The God who reigns over creation can reign in your heart. The God who sets boundaries for the seas can set boundaries for the enemy in your life.

Therefore, let us walk in holiness. Let us walk in the Spirit and let our lives be the evidence that the King of Glory still reigns.

With Love, Esinam.
