Reflections

“O Lord, our Lord, How majestic and glorious and excellent is Your name in all the earth! You have displayed Your splendor above the heavens. Out of the mouths of infants and nursing babes You have established strength Because of Your adversaries, That You might silence the enemy and make the revengeful cease. When I see and consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have established, What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of [earthborn] man that You care for him? Yet You have made him a little lower than God, And You have crowned him with glory and honor. You made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, All sheep and oxen, And also the beasts of the field, The birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, Whatever passes through the paths of the seas. O Lord, our Lord, How majestic and glorious and excellent is Your name in all the earth!”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭8‬:‭1‬-‭9‬ ‭AMP‬‬

My emphasis today is on verse 4 of the above scripture. Who am I that God is mindful of me? As a new year begins, there’s so much to glean on from the previous year and so much to anticipate in the new. However it is essential to be present in the moment and give thanks to God for how far He has brought you.

A lot might have worked out in your favour (or not). You might have made mistakes and be nursing regrets (or not). You might have experienced some loss(es) or even chalked some successes (or not). Whatever the disposition is for you though, only the living have a chance to praise God and be grateful here on earth.

Your heart might be swollen with gratitude; Praise God. Yours might feel empty and you may not have words to express it; Praise God. You might be confident in God due to a prophetic word received; Praise God. You might have a game plan and multilayered strategy for this year; Praise God. You may be confused and have so many unanswered questions, still praise God.

As you reflect, as you hope, as you plan, as you work, don’t forget your purpose and why you are still here. Also remember to be grateful and thankful for the now, always!!! Have a fulfilling New Year.

With Love, Esinam.
