Living in the Consciousness of God’s Glory

My Christian sister was asked by Facebook what was on her mind. Her response, “Do u really want to know? Facebook is asking what’s on my mind. Hmm…It is pain. Pain when I open my Bible. I want to eat it all, but I’m unable. It gives me pain. My inability before God pains me. Inability in obeying His Word. 😪😔😭😢. This is what’s on my mind now.”

Why do we get transactional with God. Basing our requests on specific scriptures that favor our desires and expectations, we ask Him to bless us according to those words. It’s not wrong to ask for stuff (He asks us to open your mouths wide and He will fill it). We must. It is necessary to enable us live the glorious life. We also must not lose sight of the fact that He is Omniscient(all knowing; he knows what we will ask before we do). It is a wonderful thing to know that we do not rely on men for our sustenance but on God because we acknowledge Him as our source. Wouldn’t it be even better to not only acknowledge our Heavenly Father for what we can get from Him but go on to desire to know Him ; to spend time in communion with Him and obedience to His word.

““I can’t stand your religious meetings. I’m fed up with your conferences and conventions. I want nothing to do with your religion projects, your pretentious slogans and goals. I’m sick of your fund-raising schemes, your public relations and image making. I’ve had all I can take of your noisy ego-music. When was the last time you sang to me? Do you know what I want? I want justice—oceans of it. I want fairness—rivers of it. That’s what I want. That’s all I want.” Amos 5:21-24 MSG

Pause now and reflect! Is your current love affair with God, (the Abba Father) at it’s rosiest or has it gone stale? Are you rationing enough time to commune with Him on a daily? – Personal communion not just corporate – or are you consumed with finding your feet or making a name for yourself within an institution or in your community. Are you doing it religiously but half-heartedly. Or per adventure just to satisfy your religious conscience?

“Give ear, O my people, to my law: Incline your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old: Which we have heard and known, And our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come, The praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done. For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, Which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: That the generation to come might know them, Even the children which should be born; Who should arise And declare them to their children: That they might set their hope in God, And not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments: And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; A generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.” Psalm 78:1-8 KJV

Life and circumstances can get us carried away, pursuing frailties with so much zeal that we risk getting distracted from Gods original purpose for our lives. We must choose daily to walk in His perfect will for our lives. After all this world will pass away. When our time on earth is gone may we not have regrets of what could have been but instead shall we be glad that we lived in the consciousness of God’s glory and majesty.

We need to get it right and now. We need to pass on the tangible realities of serving God to the next generation. We have to be the example, a legacy worthy of emulation. This time we have now is our rehearsal for eternity. May we have the grace and wisdom not to waste it. Hallelujah!!!

With Love, Esinam.
