Psalms 78:70 declares, “He chose David, his servant, and took him from the sheep pens.”
Remember when God chose David, he experienced myriad battles from his parents, Saul, and even his son Absalom. Why? When the hand of the Lord comes upon, get ready for oppositions. You don’t choose yourself; it’s Yahweh who does. So, no need to say, I don’t want to be chosen. The only wise God does the election and calling from the corridor of eternity. He has chosen you to operate in ministry, oil industry, medical world, legal world, and wherever you may find yourself.
Everyone that Jehovah chooses attracts attention from the opposition of God. That’s why it’s only ripe mangoes that attract stones. I bring you answers to some of your questions by the grace of God.
God is the one who chose Joseph, Daniel as a politician, Abraham as a herdsman, and Bezalel as a craftsman, among others.
The first sign that shows God has chosen you is that Satan himself will be so much interested in you in a negative way. You will have painful attacks on your body, in your finances, marriage, business, etc… When you see this sign when you know your hands are clean. I mean, when you know you are not responsible for this battle, thank God for you are not an ordinary person at all. Anytime there’s a prophecy upon your life, Satan will contend it, but remember God said, ” I will contend with him that contends with you and save your children.” God will fight for you and save you and your entire household. Believe it.
Hear this, there are stars on some people that signify greatness that Satan sees but may not know exactly what that greatness stands for unless we open our mouths and reveal our identity if we know. The wise men saw many stars, but among them was one that stood out, which was Jesus’s. Remember, these Wisemen were magicians. Besides, you and even your parents may not personally know about the star on you or its significance. The attacks on you are not really about you because it’s bigger than that picture. Soon, you will understand if you don’t give up. It’s actually about God’s program and your contribution to it. In that teaching field, you have a contribution to make. Ignore those papers you have to rewrite and how you struggle to pay your fees and how you sometimes miss class because you were sacked.
You will have a testimony if you maintain your position in the Lord. What you are going through is not new; it has happened before, and people came out victorious, so you too will emerge same. Do you know of any top-notch teachers or lecturers who have made or are making the Lord proud? Go to the net and find out. Time and space would not allow me to mention their names here. Read about their biographies, and you will be blessed.
The attacks from the enemy on your life are actually a sign that you have been chosen and marked by God to accomplish a particular purpose on earth. Glory be to God!
The Courts of Heaven is vividly described by biblical patriarchs to whom God granted visions and dreams. Throughout Scripture, God revealed His heavenly courtroom, allowing His servants to witness divine proceedings and understand His justice system. These visions provided clear insights into how God rules with fairness and authority in the spiritual realm.
Isaiah’s Vision (Isaiah 6:1-7):
“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one cried to another and said: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!’ And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke. So I said: ‘Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts.’ Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said: ‘Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.’” (Isaiah 6:1-7, NKJV)
Isaiah’s vision of the Lord seated on His throne reveals a profound encounter with the divine courtroom. The imagery of God as King and Judge ruling from His throne is a central theme in scripture. The seraphim’s proclamation of “Holy, holy, holy” emphasizes God’s absolute purity and sovereignty in His rulings. This moment underscores the seriousness of standing before God’s judgment seat, as even Isaiah, a prophet of God, felt unworthy in His presence.
The shaking of the temple and the filling of the house with smoke further highlight the majesty and authority of God’s courtroom. This vision illustrates the awe-inspiring nature of God’s judicial authority, where holiness and justice are inseparable. Isaiah’s immediate response of repentance and cleansing by the live coal symbolizes the process of divine purification for those who approach God’s throne, aligning with the role of Jesus as our advocate in the heavenly court today (Hebrews 9:24-26).
Daniel’s Vision (Daniel 7:9-10):
“I watched till thrones were put in place, and the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was white as snow, And the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was a fiery flame, Its wheels a burning fire; A fiery stream issued And came forth from before Him. A thousand thousands ministered to Him; Ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court was seated, And the books were opened.” (Daniel 7:9-10, NKJV)
Daniel’s vision provides a striking depiction of the heavenly courtroom, emphasizing God’s authority and the solemn nature of divine judgment. The “Ancient of Days” refers to God, seated in His majesty, clothed in white to symbolize purity and righteousness. His fiery throne represents His holiness and the consuming power of His justice.
The imagery of “thrones being put in place” suggests a structured judicial system in heaven, where decisions are made according to divine law. The multitude standing before God signifies the vast number of heavenly beings involved in divine administration. The phrase “the books were opened” points to records of human deeds, aligning with other biblical references where God keeps accounts of people’s actions (Revelation 20:12, Malachi 3:16).
This vision reinforces the reality that God presides as the ultimate Judge over all creation. It also foreshadows the final judgment, where righteousness will be upheld, and every case will be settled according to divine justice. For believers, it is a reminder that seeking justice in the Courts of Heaven means presenting one’s case before a Judge who is both holy and merciful, ruling with absolute truth.
Micaiah’s Vision (1 Kings 22:19-23):
“Micaiah continued, ‘Therefore hear the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on His throne with all the multitudes of heaven standing around Him on His right and on His left. And the Lord said, ‘Who will entice Ahab into attacking Ramoth Gilead and going to his death there?’ One suggested this, and another that. Finally, a spirit came forward, stood before the Lord, and said, ‘I will entice him.’ ‘By what means?’ the Lord asked. ‘I will go out and be a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all his prophets,’ he said. ‘You will succeed in enticing him,’ said the Lord. ‘Go and do it.’ So now the Lord has put a deceiving spirit in the mouths of these prophets of yours. The Lord has decreed disaster for you.'” (1 Kings 22:19-23, NIV)
Micaiah’s vision provides a rare glimpse into the divine council where decisions regarding earthly affairs are made. The scene reveals God seated on His throne, surrounded by heavenly beings, deliberating over King Ahab’s fate. This account demonstrates that God actively governs world events and allows spiritual forces to carry out His decrees.
God’s Supreme Authority: The vision portrays God as the ruler over both righteous and fallen spiritual beings, exercising authority over the course of history.
The Reality of the Heavenly Court: This passage aligns with other biblical visions of God’s courtroom (Daniel 7:9-10, Job 1:6-12), confirming that God’s decisions involve consultation within the divine council.
The Role of Spirits in Judgment: The deceptive spirit’s role highlights how God can permit judgment through various means, emphasizing the principle of divine justice.
Micaiah’s vision reminds us that the Court of Heaven is actively engaged in human history, ruling with wisdom and righteousness to fulfill God’s purposes.
Zechariah’s Vision (Zechariah 3:1-7):
“Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him. And the Lord said to Satan, ‘The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?’ Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments and was standing before the Angel. Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, ‘Take away the filthy garments from him.’ And to him He said, ‘See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.’ And I said, ‘Let them put a clean turban on his head.’ So they put a clean turban on his head, and they put the clothes on him. And the Angel of the Lord stood by. Then the Angel of the Lord admonished Joshua, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: If you will walk in My ways, and if you will keep My command, then you shall also judge My house, and likewise have charge of My courts; I will give you places to walk among these who stand here.'” (Zechariah 3:1-7, NKJV)
Zechariah’s vision portrays a courtroom setting where Joshua, the high priest, is being accused by Satan before the Angel of the Lord. This scene illustrates key spiritual realities:
The Role of Satan as the Accuser: Just as in Job 1:6-12, Satan brings accusations against God’s people, seeking to condemn them.
God’s Authority Over Satan: The Lord Himself rebukes Satan, demonstrating that divine justice supersedes all accusations brought against believers.
The Cleansing and Justification of the Believer: Joshua, clothed in filthy garments (representing sin), is given clean robes, signifying the removal of iniquity and the righteousness granted by God.
The Promise of Authority: Joshua is not only forgiven but also entrusted with a role in God’s divine administration, reinforcing the idea that those purified by God are called to serve in His kingdom. This vision beautifully foreshadows Christ’s role as our Advocate (1 John 2:1) and the power of God’s mercy in the Court of Heaven. It reassures believers that despite Satan’s accusations, God’s grace prevails, clothing us with righteousness and granting us access to His presence.
John’s Revelation (Revelation 4:1-11, 20:11-12): The Apostle John received a revelation of God’s throne, where the 24 elders worshiped Him, and the final judgment was pronounced based on what was recorded in the books.
These visions confirm that the court of heaven is not just a metaphor but a real, functioning judicial system where God reigns as Judge, assisted by angels and heavenly beings. They also reveal that God actively intervenes in the affairs of men through divine justice.
Psalm 82:1 – “God stands in the congregation of the mighty; He judges among the gods.”
This verse presents a powerful image of God presiding over a divine council, exercising His authority as the Supreme Judge. The phrase “congregation of the mighty” is often interpreted as a reference to the heavenly assembly or rulers, possibly angelic beings or earthly authorities under God’s sovereign rule.
God’s Authority Over Spiritual and Earthly Rulers: Throughout scripture, God is shown as the ultimate Judge who holds both spiritual and human authorities accountable.
Daniel 7:9-10 – Describes the Ancient of Days taking His seat in the heavenly court, where thrones were set and books were opened for judgment.
Revelation 20:11-12 – Depicts the final judgment, where all are judged according to what is written in the books.
God’s Justice and Righteousness:
Deuteronomy 10:17 – “For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes.”
This verse underscores God’s supreme authority over all spiritual and earthly powers. He is the highest Judge, the One who reigns above all and whose judgments are final and unquestionable. The phrase “God of gods and Lord of lords” establishes His unmatched sovereignty over all rulers, both in the natural and spiritual realms.
God’s Impartial Judgment: Unlike human judges who may be influenced by status, wealth, or persuasion, God’s justice is absolute and incorruptible. He does not show favoritism (Romans 2:11) and administers justice with perfect righteousness (Psalm 89:14).
God’s Power Over Authorities: As the ultimate Judge, God holds all earthly kings and rulers accountable (Daniel 2:21, Proverbs 21:1). His authority extends beyond human governance to the spiritual domain, where He reigns supreme over all heavenly beings.
God as Defender of the Oppressed: In His role as Judge, God ensures justice for the weak, the fatherless, and the oppressed (Psalm 68:5, Psalm 146:7-9). His courtroom is one where righteousness prevails, and His judgments cannot be overturned. This verse is a reminder that in the Courts of Heaven, we stand before a Judge who is both mighty and just, yet merciful.
Unlike human legal systems, where corruption can exist, God’s courtroom operates on absolute fairness, and His rulings are eternal.
Psalm 9:7-8 – “But the Lord shall endure forever; He has prepared His throne for judgment. He shall judge the world in righteousness, and He shall administer judgment for the peoples in uprightness.”
This verse highlights the reality that God actively judges among rulers, both in the natural and spiritual realms. It serves as a reminder that all power and authority are subject to His ultimate rule and justice in the Court of Heaven.
Hebrews 12:22-24 – This passage provides a powerful description of the heavenly assembly, illustrating the majesty and authority of the divine courtroom. It speaks of Mount Zion, the city of the living God, where an innumerable company of angels, the church of the firstborn, and the spirits of the righteous made perfect gather in God’s presence. God is identified as the ultimate Judge, presiding over this celestial assembly, while Jesus serves as the mediator of the new covenant.
This passage highlights the contrast between the old covenant, marked by the fearful presence of God at Mount Sinai, and the new covenant, which brings believers into direct access to the divine court through the blood of Jesus, which speaks better things than that of Abel.
The reference to Jesus as the mediator reinforces His role as our advocate before the divine Judge, ensuring that mercy and grace are available to all who seek justice in the Court of Heaven.
The concept of God as a Judge is woven throughout Scripture. From the Old Testament to the New Testament, God is depicted as the ultimate authority who executes justice with righteousness and impartiality. Unlike human judges, who are subject to limitations, God’s judgment is perfect, holy, and just.
Genesis 18:25 – Abraham acknowledges God’s just nature: “Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?”
Deuteronomy 32:4 – “He is the Rock, His works are perfect, and all His ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He.”
Psalm 9:7-8 – “But the Lord shall endure forever; He has prepared His throne for judgment. He shall judge the world in righteousness, and He shall administer judgment for the peoples in uprightness.”
This passage highlights the eternal nature of God’s reign and His unwavering commitment to justice. Unlike human rulers whose authority is temporary, God’s rule is everlasting, and His judgments are established on righteousness and truth.
God’s Throne as the Center of Divine Judgment: The phrase “He has prepared His throne for judgment” emphasizes that God’s authority is not arbitrary but intentional. His throne is the seat of ultimate justice, from which He governs the affairs of both heaven and earth.
God’s Righteous Judgment Over the World: Unlike human legal systems that can be flawed or biased, God judges with perfect righteousness. This aligns with:
Psalm 96:10 – “Say among the nations, ‘The Lord reigns.’ The world is firmly established, it shall not be moved; He shall judge the peoples righteously.”
Isaiah 11:3-4 – “He shall not judge by what His eyes see, or decide disputes by what His ears hear, but with righteousness He shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth.”
God’s Justice as a Source of Hope: This verse reassures believers that God’s rule is eternal and that He will ultimately bring justice to those who seek Him. It reflects the truth that God is not only a Judge but also a righteous defender of the oppressed (Psalm 68:5).
This passage serves as a reminder that the Court of Heaven operates on the principles of divine justice, where God rules with fairness and mercy, ensuring that righteousness prevails over wickedness.
God’s role as a Judge is not only about punishment but also about bringing justice to the oppressed and defending the innocent. His judgments are always true and based on His divine knowledge and omniscience.
The Role of God as Judge in Scripture
Throughout the Bible, God is seen presiding over cases, rendering verdicts, and ensuring justice is carried out:
Judging the Nations – God judged Egypt with plagues (Exodus 7-12), Babylon for its pride (Daniel 5), and Israel when it turned away from Him (Judges 2:11-15).
Defending the Righteous – He intervened for Daniel in the lion’s den (Daniel 6) and for the Israelites when they were enslaved in Egypt (Exodus 3:7-10).
The Final Judgment – The Bible speaks of a future judgment where all people will stand before God’s throne (Revelation 20:11-12, 2 Corinthians 5:10).
As we explore the Courts of Heaven, it is important to understand that approaching God as Judge is not something to be feared when we are in Christ. Instead, it is an opportunity to seek justice, mercy, and divine intervention in our lives.
Here are some prayer points for making petitions in the Courts of Heaven, based on biblical principles:
1. Approaching the Court with Thanksgiving
• Scripture: Psalm 100:4 – “Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise.”
• Prayer: Heavenly Father, I come before You with gratitude for Your mercy and justice. Thank You for the blood of Jesus that grants me access to Your throne of grace.
2. Repenting of Personal and Generational Sins
• Scripture: 1 John 1:9 – “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us.”
• Prayer: Lord, I acknowledge any sin in my life and my bloodline that may be giving the enemy a legal right to accuse me. I repent and ask for Your cleansing by the blood of Jesus.
3. Rejecting the Accuser’s Claims
• Scripture: Revelation 12:10-11 – “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”
• Prayer: Father, I silence every accusation of the enemy against me, my family, and my destiny. Let the blood of Jesus speak on my behalf and cancel every legal claim of the adversary.
4. Presenting Your Petition (Your Case Before God)
• Scripture: Philippians 4:6 – “Let your requests be made known to God.”
• Prayer: Lord, I bring my request before You today (mention your request). I ask for Your divine intervention and ruling in my favor according to Your Word.
5. Calling for Angelic Enforcement of God’s Verdict
• Scripture: Psalm 103:20 – “Bless the Lord, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word.”
• Prayer: I declare that as You rule in my favor, Lord, Your angels will enforce Your verdict, bringing divine order, breakthrough, and restoration in my life.
6. Sealing the Case with the Blood of Jesus
• Scripture: Hebrews 12:24 – “Jesus, the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things.”
• Prayer: Father, I seal this petition with the blood of Jesus, and I declare victory. Thank You for granting justice in this matter. Amen.

Each of these stories demonstrates how God can turn situations around, bringing hope and transformation.
The concept of a judicial arm or government is not only an earthly concept. In the Kingdom of God there is the executive, the Judiciary and legislature.
The concept of kingdom government is described in Isaiah 9:6-7 where the Bible says “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
The government of heaven has structure and its to the advantage of the believer who is now a child of God to know the system of heaven.
I will want to take you on a brief journey to scratch the surface of the legal system of heaven which is represented by the courts of Heaven.
The Court of Heaven is a real place where believers can access the justice of the Most-High God. It is the place where breakthroughs happen.
In Daniel 7:9-10, 13-14, 26-27 – the Bible Describes the heavenly courtroom where God, the Ancient of Days, sits in judgment and grants authority to His saints.
In Psalm 82:1-4 – God judges among the rulers and defends the weak and the needy.
In Hebrews 12:22-24 – the Bible mentions the assembly of heaven, including God as Judge and Jesus as the mediator.
“to the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.”
There things to note about the courts of heaven
1. God as Judge
• Psalm 82:1 – “God stands in the congregation of the mighty; He judges among the gods.”
• Daniel 7:9-10 – “I watched till thrones were put in place, and the Ancient of Days was seated… The court was seated, and the books were opened.”
2. Heavenly Courtroom
Even in the courts of heaven satan go to present accusations of wrong doings by Christians. You must understand that we have an accuser who is constantly bringing law suits against us. This is evident in the two examples below;
• Job 1:6-12 – Satan appears before God to accuse Job, suggesting a legal setting where cases are presented.
• Zechariah 3:1-5 – Joshua the high priest stands before the Angel of the Lord, while Satan accuses him, and God issues a verdict of mercy.
3. Jesus as Advocate
Our advantage as believers who are redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus is that Jesus Christ himself is our lawyer and dense advocate in the courts of Heaven.
That is why there is the provision of forgiveness of sins through the blood of Jesus. The Bible prescribes confessing your sin to God for forgiveness so no legal accusation can stand against you in the courts.
We receive forgiveness freely because Jesus had paid the price to the claim of divine justice (the wages of sin is death). Our advocate had earned the legal qualification to defend us.
• 1 John 2:1 – “We have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.”
• Hebrews 7:25 – Jesus “always lives to make intercession” for believers.
4. Accusations and Legal Battles in the Spirit Realm
Imagine being in a court room where an accused is being grilled with evidence of wrongdoing. And where the opposing lawyer is making a case for the judge to pass a sentence to jail this person. In the courts of Heaven there are heated sessions where satan is bring accusations against people daily before God.
• Revelation 12:10 – Satan is called “the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night.”
• Luke 18:1-8 – The parable of the persistent widow before the unjust judge illustrates perseverance in seeking justice.
In the case of Job, the Bible reveals how the accuser works and what the outcome of his desires are;
Job is described as a righteous and wealthy man who fears God and shuns evil (Job 1:1). However, Satan challenges Job’s faithfulness, arguing that Job only serves God because of his prosperity. With God’s permission, Satan takes away Job’s wealth, children, and health, reducing him to a state of extreme suffering.
Despite his misery, Job refuses to curse God, though he questions why he is suffering unjustly. His three friends—Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar—insist that his suffering must be due to hidden sin, but Job maintains his innocence. A younger man, Elihu, later speaks, arguing that suffering can also serve as divine discipline.
Finally, God answers Job out of a whirlwind, emphasizing His wisdom and sovereignty over creation. Job humbly acknowledges God’s greatness, and in the end, God restores Job’s fortunes, blessing him with even greater prosperity than before.
The story of Job highlights the mystery of suffering, the limits of human understanding, and the importance of trusting God even in trials.
In the case of Job God turned his captivity when he prayed for his friends ( when he brought his case to the courts of heaven)
Job 42:10 KJV. And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before
For every family or bloodline there may be legalities and technicalities which satan users as legal grounds for accusations. So you may be born again and Holy Ghost filled but you might be a silent victim of these accusations that affects people in your blood line.
Example in some families the men die in their prime, if you look closely you will realize that it’s a cycle that is ongoing. By being born again you have an advantage to take that case to court. Unbelievers cannot access the courts of heaven.
The divine claim for justice is “ the wages of sin is death”
Jesus Christ has paid for all the claims for divine justice. The effects of sin is death and the Lord bore that on the cross on our behalf. What he has done is settled and has make provision for atonement. So when believers err the provision for forgiveness is activated by confessing our sins.
Romans 8:1-4
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
If you are not born again, you can be saved by inviting Jesus into your heart with this simple prayer
Say …
Heavenly Father, thank you for sending your son Jesus to die to redeem my life.
Lord Jesus i believe you are the son of God who died for me and rose again on the third day.
Please forgive me all my sins , come and live in my heart and write my name in your book of life. Amen!!
If you just prayed this then congratulations you are born again.
Use this short assignment to help you identify areas of challenges in your life. Look at your life in a lens and write down somethings you need redress for. Make it plain and get ready to go to the courts of Heaven…
There is a fire within all of us that is waiting to be ignited. A fire that grows and can spread to those around us if we continue to feed it’s flames. This fire is stronger than the doubt that you may be feeling. It is greater than any resistance that opposes us. It has the power to overcome the negativity that may be surrounding you right now.
That fire, that passion, that inner strength was instilled in you by God himself. A passion to do what you were made to do, whatever that may be. An inner strength to persevere and come out on top regardless of your opposition. The power to conquer that fear, climb that mountain and con vanquish that demon.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Jeremiah 29:11 KJV
You might be uncertain about what tomorrow will bring, but be certain that you need to make things happen today. You may be uncertain about how you’re going to reach your goals, but be certain on what those goals are.
You might be uncertain on HOW you will be successful, but be CERTAIN that you will be successful.
Be sure of it.
Make your mind up.
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Isaiah 41:10 KJV
Your God has provided you with the tools necessary to see your dreams come to fruition.
He has watched over you since you were conceived and His will prevails every time.
Even when you are not sure how you will make it out. Be sure in Him. When the timelines to accomplish your goals are uncertain, know that they will be accomplished. Be certain of it.
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Joshua 1:9 KJV
Be hopeful. Be steadfast. Trust Him. Whatever you’re going through is no match for the Lord. Whatever pain, fear, frustration, stress, anxiety, or uncertainty is made CERTAIN through Jesus Christ.
In times of uncertainty, don’t be afraid. Have faith.
Things don’t always go according to our plans, but they will always adhere to the plans of the Lord. Life, however, is not lived without any bumps in the road. Failure is not found within these bumps, it is found when we allow these bumps to stop us in our tracks. Don’t become so discouraged in the delays that you give up on the pursuit of your purpose.
We cannot control what happens to us, we can only control our response to it. A man of God once said that life is ten percent what happens to you and ninety percent how you react to it.
Your mindset is a powerful thing. I believe that people who are successful aren’t successful because they are more talented or even more skilled. Successful people are successful because they have a mindset for success even during failure.
“Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.”
Hosea 6:3 KJV
We must trust the process, even when the journey gets rocky. God is developing you for the plan that He has created for you to live out. God puts us through what I call “stretching seasons” to prepare us mentally for the destination that we are heading towards.
Having faith in times of uncertainty does not mean turning a blind eye to what’s going on around you. It doesn’t mean that you won’t have feelings of fear, we’re only human. It means that we, as followers of Christ, choose to have faith among the fear and negativity that may surround us. It means that even with fear in our minds, we know that the Lord will provide us with whatever we need to carry on.
“As for God, his way is perfect: The word of the LORD is tried: He is a buckler to all those that trust in him.”
Psalm 18:30 KJV
In times of uncertainty, your Bible is certain.
God is sure. Jesus has made his mind up.
You see, we may live in a limited world but we serve a limitless God. Just look up to Him in hope and trust. He is faithful.
We cannot always be certain of what is going to happen. There is no telling what the future will bring to anyone. We can make educated guesses. We can make assumptions. We can try to notice patterns and figure it out, but no one knows what tomorrow will bring. All we have is today.
And today is enough!
You have survived every bad day so far. Every circumstance and setback. You are undefeated. You’ve seen seemingly insurmountable situations before, and you have faced terrifying opponents who seemed to have the advantage, and yet you have come out the victor.
“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.”
Psalm 46:1 KJV
In times of uncertainty, we choose to have faith.
We have faith not in our circumstances and situations but in our God, who provides for and protects us.
Certainty – Firm conviction that something is the case. The quality of being reliably true. A fact that is definitely true or an event that is definitely going to take place.
Uncertainty – The state of being uncertain. Something that is uncertain or that causes one to feel uncertain.
Faith – The substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
Uncertainty says, “I don’t know what my future holds.”
Faith says, “I know who holds my future!”
To be without Christ is to be without peace. To be uncertain. Every person has a conscience within them, which must be satisfied before they can truly be happy. There is only one thing that can give peace to the conscience, and that is being in the right relationship with God.
“casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
1 Peter 5:7 KJV
Fight for what matters most to you. Fight for your faith. Fight for your family. Fight for your life. Don’t allow negativity and uncertainty to take up room in your mind. Don’t allow fear and doubt to prevail. God is STILL in the blessing business.
It’s time that we evict uncertainty and make way for faith. Negativity has overstayed its welcome and positivity is moving back in! We need to introduce an uncertain world to a certain Jesus.
We live in the digital age where information is provided to us faster than ever. You can Google anything you’d like and read about that topic for weeks. With the click of your mouse, or the tap of your finger, you can learn all that you need to know about anything whether it be truth, myth or facts. While this should be a positive aspect of the time we live in, it isn’t always. With an abundance of information comes an abundance of misinformation. News that has been so sensationalized that we can no longer tell what’s real and what isn’t. Usher in the world of Fake News!
“In the multitude of my thoughts within me Thy comforts delight my soul.”
Psalm 94:19 KJV
The line between fact and opinion has been blurred by journalists and news stations who aren’t seeking the truth like you and I. They’re seeking ratings. When people are fearful, they will turn on the news. They want to either be comforted or informed on that which they are afraid of. Yet, too often do we take the word of man for fact. We read and listen and assume that whatever has been written or told to us is real, never thinking that the sources we are checking may also be misinformed.
The only TRUTH that we know is that Jesus Christ died for our sins. The only truth that we know has been fact-checked, cited, and sourced, is that God will be there for the start and the finish. For the open and the close. He is the author and the editor, and His word is final. There is nothing to sensationalize. There is no truth which God has not yet uncovered.
This is not to say that you should stop reading it or watching the news. To stop trusting those around you. What we need to be conscious of is that regardless of what has been written, regardless of what has been reported, God already knows. God’s plans for us does not change because of the actions of men. God’s plans are unwavering, and not contingent on what is going on around us.
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
John 14:27 KJV
In times of uncertainty, God is certain. While our plans may fall through and change, the plan that the Lord has in store for us will be carried out. All we need to do is continue to dwell in His presence and soak in His word. Then you will easily decipher His voice from the noise and have a clear sense of purpose and direction.
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Isaiah 41:10 KJV
It is said that bad news travels fast. Every day, people all over the world turn their television sets and radios on to watch and listen to the news. Global events are discussed on nearly every channel. Negativity is all over the internet.
Magazines and Newspapers, while not as popular as they once were, are still found in abundance. And the fear and negativity is still found in abundance, as well. You nearly can’t avoid it especially if you engage these media both traditional and via the internet. It’s in our faces 24/7. Negativity is a plague.
But what do we do? We turn up the volume. We click on the link and even share with others. We flip to the next page. And we allow this negativity to permeate our minds. We worry about whatever ongoing war there is, whatever new disease is being spread, whatever the stock markets are doing. Why do we do this? What is our fascination with this type of information? We are fearful.
It is no secret that there is a large amount of darkness in this world, ready to pull those willing to listen under its grasp. But there is also a lot of light. And, where there is light, darkness cannot prevail. The light that has always shines on us in the darkest times as believers in Christ has been the word of God. Because regardless of what situation you find yourself in, the Bible will walk you through the steps in order to get through it. Financial crisis, issues in your marriage or relationship, problems at work, at school, global catastrophes, they all pale in comparison to the Lord, and to eternity. The Bible is our source of never-ending light.
Even in the darkest of rooms, when a lamp is turned on, the light drives that darkness away. Even in the face of adversity, amidst tragedies and uncertainties, the light that the Lord shines on us still triumphs. There is nothing greater. There is nothing brighter. Amidst darkness, choose to reach out towards the light. Allow it to shine on your spirit and to lead the way to better days.
In the past couple of weeks we have discussed how to discover our divine purpose and also how to rest and find peace in your divine purpose and encounter God therein. Today, we conclude this series by learning how to trust in the direction and purpose God has laid out for us.
Are we lost? Do you know where we are? Those questions can be so irritating especially when you are confident of your direction. They can be humbling too, especially when you secretly doubt the path you’ve chosen. Our response to this question is usually to keep on going even if we don’t trust the direction in which we are going.
“How sweet are thy words unto my taste! Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through thy precepts I get understanding: Therefore I hate every false way. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And a light unto my path.”
Psalm 119:103-105 KJV
Your desire should be to bring joy to the very heart of God. Obediently pursue God in expressing your joy filled adoration. As your journey through each day, hour, moment of your life, consider the purpose of each breath. Do you trust that there will be a next breath? Do you trust there will be a next beat of your heart?
Let each breath that you take be a reminder that your life is full of divine purpose. Ask the Lord to help you trust in Him. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the purpose of each breath and each beat of your heart. Remember who you are, a child of the Almighty God, the creator of the universe. His purpose for you is to pursue and enjoy Him. Live that truth and trust it completely.
“O taste and see that the LORD is good: Blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”
Psalm 34:8 KJV
When you ponder on the good things that God has done for you, does it draw you closer to God? Do these memories make you trust in His refuge and His care? Those who trust God lack nothing. You are God’s chosen one, your purpose is to pursue God. When you honour the Lord, His angels protect you and you will never be in need. When you trust Him you will never miss out on anything good.
Remember the prodigal son in Luke 16. Even after he had strayed and missed his way, when he did return, his father welcomed him open-heartedly. No matter how far off you may have strayed from God’s purpose for your life, trust that God is merciful and willing to take you back in His warm embrace. He will not only wipe away your sins and guilt but He will also lead you back onto the path He has designed for your life.
“Because thy lovingkindness Is better than life, My lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; And my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:”
Psalm 63:3-5 KJV
Discern God’s presence in your present reality. What are you doing to pursue Him? How intentional are you being in seeking Him and dwelling in His presence? There is no one who is insignificant in the purpose of God. Ask God to help you trust in Him and His purpose for you. Dare to encounter God for yourself.
The Lord appeared to a man and showed him a huge rock. The Lord told the man that his purpose was to push the huge rock. The man did this day after day, month after month. He came back after many years and said, “Lord, I have laboured long and hard in your service putting all my strength to do that which you have asked. Yet after all this time I have not been able to move the rock. I am sorry I have failed in my purpose.”
To this the Lord responded, “My child when long ago I asked you to serve me, I told you that your purpose was to push against the rock with all of your strength, which you have done. Never once did I mention that I expected you to move it. Your task was to push the rock. Your purpose was to be obedient and this you have done. I, my child, will now move the rock.”
Beloved, rest and find peace in your divine purpose and there, encounter God. Ask God to give you peace in your purpose, for when you cast your burdens on Him He will care for you. Trust the Lord to guide you along the journey of life. Obediently pursue God and express your adoration to Him at all times.
“Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”
Psalm 55:22 KJV
Your divine purpose is to pour out your whole heart and soul to knowing God, pursuing Him and bringing Him glory. When you feel worry at any point in time that you’re not pursuing him enough, that is a sign that you need to be more intentional in making time to seek His face and dwell in His presence.
“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.”
Isaiah 12:2 KJV
Discern God’s presence in your present reality. Are you confident in your purpose to bring God glory and enjoy His presence? If you’re not, rejoice in your fear and doubt about your purpose. Find peace in the uncertainty that you feel. God celebrates your humility but resists the proud.
God will not permit the godly to slip and fall. Trust him to save you even when you miss your way. Deepen your understanding of scripture in order to remain aligned to His perfect will and instructions.
“Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:”
Isaiah 26:4 KJV
God keeps you in perfect peace when your mind is stayed on Him and you trust in Him. May God meet all of your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Let the peace of God that surpasses all understanding guard your heart and mind as you focus on pushing your rock and quit worrying about how to get it to move.
May the Holy Spirit guide you in peaceful purpose because maintaining peace in pursuing purpose is a sure sign of your trust in God’s omniscience. He has the blueprint of your destiny. Wouldn’t you rather trust Him? Dare to encounter God!
